Is that 182 in the pic yours?

Nope. Not ours.
Belongs to some dude named Tom up in the MI or WI area (I think).
I’m thinking the Lake may be his as well. The PT-17 looks like ours, but isn’t. No idea who's. Why do you ask?

The pics were shot for the sale ads on the -16. It’s actually for sale. The owner is up your way in NY.
Want to buy it ?? I can help make that happen !!

Should be a blast with five kids:eek:this time!

Airstrip one way - Lodge, t'other. How hard can that be?

Is the HU16 a 'Grumman' Albatross? What route are you taking to Africa in a plane with such a short range? I got to fly on one in the Bahamas and I think the pilot said it had a 2K nm range?

The max range I’ve ever heard of for a -16D is ~2850, but I doubt that was with anything but a small crew and fuel. We, obviously, will carry a bit more and less fuel. Either way, we’ll have a 2K range with some reserves. The hop over isn’t the issue, it’s the hop back. We have a northern (European) route option for that pending the weather and winds aloft.

Going over:
East to FL.
South through the Caribbean to Venezuela.
Down to Natal, Brazil.
Top the tanks and the aux(s), fly lean, pray for a tail wind and hold breath to Conakry or Freetown.
All - at a mind boggling ~165mph :wacky:!!

Easy as pie.... No worries mate.... Right?!

:sick3:

“Shaniqua no got no jet no more.”

Sorry - It’s a quip on a Little T & One Track Mike song.
I spent 3 days wakeboarding with 2 pros and a shooter that just couldn’t leave it alone. Now I'll be stuck in a flying box using it at every chance I get. Just to piss others off as much as possible. :D

Yep on the Albatross.
My seat....:D
And, everyone else’s.

We’re counting on our two kids to keep the other three from going bonkers in there before we even break the coast.

Lord help us.....

Funny you mention that, I spent 3 years in East Africa and I had the time of my life. I'm going back to Tanzania for a couple of months in 3 weeks :). You will have a great time in Kenya, just a word of advise never exchange money from those guys on the street no matter how much they bug you, they will offer you a great deal but trust me you'll get ripped off!
