How many sites are dedicated to Mercedes "love stories"?

It's human nature to whine, especially when people feel cheated or that life is unfair. Just about every car company has ***** sites like this, so it's not unique.

There is no question there is a high amount of disaffection with buyers of 2000-2006 models, there were plenty of them that were headaches to their owners, no question about it.

For 2007 the trend has been upwards once again in build quality though

I like this one:

"At 30,000 miles I had to replace the front brake pads, which I am told is normal - who knows?"

Its like consumer reports, get some brake dust on the wheels and people complain.

Most people don't give a rip about how a car drives or is built. They just want it to run as cheaply as possible while they own it, and if it has the right badge on the hood they are happy to own it. Thats why Lexus exists and why BMW includes everything for the first 50k miles.

Here is a good one:

2007 is less than one year old. In fact, it is the current model year. I don't know how a proper quality test can be measured as so little time has passed.

Bah. Those owners deserve Honda Accords. If you can't pay, then don't play. Whiners.

I'm sure those stuck in the glorious 1980's will find something. Everytime a new series comes out, it's "Ehhh..... They don't make them like they used to!" Well, time moves on.

I'm glad they don't make them like they used to! Crank starting an engine by hand would suck! More so in the winter!

True but they have great customer service. My Acura TL had a problem although I never experienced one. Honda automatically extended the warranties to 75K miles and then a couple of years later they extended the warranties to 100K miles. Well, I never took mine in as I was waiting to get to the 100K mark. At approximately 99,970 miles, I took my car in. Honda put a brand spankin' new tranny in it, no questions asked. I wish MB would learn something from Acura and Lexus regarding excellent customer service and standing behind their products. Mercedes has a long ways to go to match Acura and Lexus in customer support and service.

Yes, taking it to it's logical conclusion.

When they work, the newer models are superior in overall performance. When they break, costs will break the bank.

Ehhh...They don't make 'em like they used too.
Good for the new car buyer, bad for the used car buyer.
