Very nice color combination. I always liked the exhaust through the fender look. Too bad you have to sell. Hope you get your number.

That one's a real beauty, and I hope you get the full price on her!
Frank Sinatra drove a '57 Cadillac convertible in the movie "High Hopes" and I was a little boy when I saw the movie, and felt so sad when, in the movie, he had to sell that beautiful car. They were really the "Standard of the World" back then, and if you drove on of them, people knew you'd really "made" it. I was so happy when I achieved a big goal, which was to buy a Cadillac before I hit 40. That was neat. |
I forget. Were the car bumper nips modeled after the 50's brazierres or the other way around? :D

They are called "Dagmars" My '57 Chevy had them too... Can you guess why? |
Nice cruiser, good luck with the sale.

My folks had a powder blue '57 Caddie when I was a kid back in the early 60's. Dad always said it was his favorite car. Traded it for a '61 that he never really liked.

I used to be an early 50s caddy afficianado, having at one time at least five of them from 50 to 53. I pretty much shunned anything newer, but that 57 of yours is a classy looking one that I would be tempted by if still in the caddy mode. My best two were a 51 hearse with 40 something thousand miles all original and pretty sharp and a 53 model 62 four door with 70 something thou miles. The 53 was mostly original and after sorted was an excellent driving and very very reliable car that I was totally unafraid to drive anywhere at any time. They were still trying to make them better in those days and they succeeded pretty well. I would put the reliability and engineering on a level with the legendary 123 mercedes. The caddys now.....ugh. Plasticy cheapo stuff. I do admire what they have been trying to do with their image though with the high performance angle though. I would just be afraid to buy any gm stuff at present though. Tom W |

Beautiful car BTW. |
Named after a bosomy actress by the name of Dagmar.
She was before my time but her legacy lives on in the caddies! Tom W |
Well, I just received a call from the guy selling my Caddy and he said it should be gone next week. Two weeks ago he sold my Ghia Vert for me so my 81 300SD is now my classic car I guess. Thanks for the kind words about Betty (my Caddy) she'll be missed!!!:(
