Weird problems here
I have two systems on the cable/dsl router tied to the cable modem.
Both can only access mercedesshop and a couple of other sites. I get "page not found" error on google, hotmail... pretty much everything else. Resetting everything didn't help.

Sounds like a DNS server problem. Mercedesshop's numerical IP is probably cached that's why you can get here.
