Binding sunroof 126 coupe..
I don't understand it. This car is almost literally brand new. I've had it for 3.5 weeks now, and the sunroof is sort of binding up, and will not always open or close. Before I bought it, it sat inside a museum like environment for most of the last 19 years, and was barely ever taken out. Could it be a matter of grease or something..?
It's been working great for the past 3.5 weeks, but all of a sudden, in the last 48 hrs or so, it started making all kinds of noises, and sometimes even get sort of jammed in a half way position between open and closed. I hope it will be a matter of adjustment or something, and not be a perminent, ongoing issue. Dealerships are useless to me normally, but do you guys think they could handle this..? I'd like to DIY the thing, if it's something simple. How do I access it? Do I need to take down the headliner? How do I do that without damaging it in the process..? Sucks to have someone ride in my nice car, and have to tell them not to touch it when they ask if we can open the sunroof.. I just want it to work. Is it a very complicated system? Any help would be appreciated..
