Drew Carey for The Price is Right
Comedian Drew Carey will replace veteran game show host Bob Barker as the host of the long-running The Price is Right.

"I realize what a big responsibility this is," Carey said. "It's only a game show, but it's the longest-running game show in American television and I plan to keep it that way."

The 83-year-old Barker retired after 35 years as the host, following the recording of his 6,586th episode.

Drew Carey???

They should have retired The Price is Right in Bob's honour.

Lets see how this goes for him

I give it one season, maybe two, before he quits, ratings go through the floor and/or he turns out to be a "celebrity substitute" host (like what happened with Cathy Lee on Regis Philbin's talk-show.)

Carey is a libertarian, read about it years ago in "Reason" magazine No dumbass Hollweird type either...

He'll be quizzing the contestants on market forces which created that price.

Interesting choice, I'm not sure what I think. I generally like Drew Carey but I'm not sure he "fits".
