A LOT of short-term money to be made. In the long-term, certain sectors will perform very well... Other "staple" sectors are due for a big correction, and a majority of the market is due to a significant correction.

A LOT hinges on the policy of the next administration, so we should have another year of the quick money.

What part of "Buy low, sell high" don't you understand?

Should have bailed in July. Always goes to he** in the summer. Nothing new under the sun in the stock market. Did I take my own advice? Of course not!!!

A few years back when I was enjoying some prosperity I managed to turn about $5k into $2.5k in a little more than a year.

Since then I have not owned any stocks to speak of.

Real estate and old cars.

The old car is doing fairly well at present.

I've seen my investments go up and down over the years through numerous business cycles. Over the long haul, they have gone up considerably. I don't usually make changes unless there is a specific change within the individual company.

I figure I've got about 25 years until retirement so I'm not too concerned about short term volitility. I've been buying stuff fairly cheap and across a wide range, but most of my money has been going into Mutual Funds. I wish I had the time and amibition (and disposable cash) for playing the market for short-term gains, but I don't.

You don't lose anything if you don't sell (not true on many levels, but not that far off up to a point)
