thats right.. my financial aid... they screwed up my social and it will be cleared in 24 hours.

the 13th I can go get my books and stuff.. sucks I have to use the schools book store.. $2,000 of free money and I was going to go and get them online so I could pocket the rest after second term... oh well.. what ever I don't use goes into my account for next year..

Are the books exclusively for those courses at that school? Otherwise you'd think you'd be able to find them somewhere. If not, you can usually save a lot of money if you buy the used versions. Many of mine didn't see any more use than they did the day I bought them.

Ill buy them new since I like new books...and just sell them back..

My daughter buys them on eBay every semester. Saves me a bundle.

what a racket the school has with the book store company....

3 subjects are all I have this term.. the books come to around 357$... need a graphing calc so another hundred and other good.. soo all I need is 500$

The other thing in our favor is that she's an English major and a lot of her books are novels. Last year's edition of Chas. Dickins is not going to be much different from this year's.

Even with her texts though, she can almost always find a cheap one on eBay and have it in a couple days.

I used to spend a lot of money on books, now I buy them on amazon and sell them back to the school for about what I paid for them.

I think last semester I only lost about $200 after I sold them back.

College textbooks depreciate like cars! You'll be lucky to get 50% of what you paid at the end of the year...even in excellent condition!

Buying new should be avoided unless you're forced to go with a new edition (which seems to coincidentally happen every year)!

I like new... But I do suppose used might be fine... I just need to make sure what ever CD comes with the book is with it..

Don't waste money on new books, the cds are useless anyways.
