I've not been to the Sci-Fi Museum, so can't say if it's worth it.

These are good ideas, Museum of flight is very good. As far as the underground tour, I did it about 10 years ago and it was very overrated at that time in my opinion. Just a lot of dirt and debris. I don't know if it has gotten any better.

The ferry ride is a nice idea. You can just walk on in Seattle, I forget the fare, and you can just stay on at the other end and come back. You could go to Bainbridge or Bremerton. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/

The ferry to the islands is very nice, even better scenery, but only leaves from Anacortes which is some distance from Seattle, but worth it if you have the time.

The original REI store is gone but they have the "new" flagship store. So if you like high prices and bad service definitely go there.

Down the street from Pike Place Market is the Seattle Art Museum if you go for that sort of thing.

And if you like wine, we have about 20 wineries out here in Woodinville.

It rains a bit in Seattle.

Crap... I don't even own an umbrella. Or a raincoat. Maybe have to think on that one. I don't think much is forecast, but you never know. Thanks for the heads up.

Ditto that. If you want to take a shorter trip but with the same views of the city, take a ferry to Winslow, on a nearby Island, which departs from the same downtown ferry dock as the Bremerton ferry. About a one hour round trip.

We'll be heading into the area on Friday, probably departing on Monday morn. Have an event on Saturday night, but otherwise open. On the list so far are:

Gasworks Park is one of my favorite spots. It's on the north end of Lake Union. It was a coal gassification plant years ago and they put in a small hill using earth excavated for the Safeco Insurance bldg in the U District. It has a great sundial on top, you stand in the proper place, based on date, and your upraised arms cast the shadow to give you time of day. It's somewhat on the way back to town from the Ballard locks.

Discovery Park out at the old Ft. Lawton is also quite good.

If you want to see the coffee shop that the Starbucks group used as a model for it's chain, check out the Cafe Allegro in the U-District. The entrance is from an alley between Univ. Ave and 15th NE, between NE 45th and NE 43rd. It wasn't part of the original Starbucks but they liked its ambiance so the founder was hired to design the outlets. The Allegro is much more charming.

On the way up, the Keystone Cafe in Eugene, Oregon is one of my favorite watering holes. It's a quintessential hippie cafe, with great coffee, choice of sausage or salmon patty for breakfast, and a vegan section of the menu.

Ok, I suppose I should have mentioned, I'm not going to be visiting any hippie cafes. I don't patronize places with vegan menus. If it's grouped like chicken, pasta, beef, vegan, where they prepare and serve vegans, maybe, but not anyplace where I'll be being served vegan food.

I'm also not looking for any out-of-state homosexual or bi-sexual adventures.

Perusing out of state gun shops to see what is availible? Yes.

Out of the way soy latte houses? No.

Stop into a BMW, MBZ, Ferarri dealer to look over the offerings? Yes.

A museum dedicated to the art of repressed trans-gender african americans? No.

Brewery? Yes.

Collection of imported and locally produced beads? No.

See where I'm going here? I'm already planning to gas up in Hilt, CA and make it to Kalama, WA. A state that won't let you pump your own gas... WTF?! Whose idea is that? If my GF wants to detour over to Crater Lake, I might have to purchase a gas can to keep in the trunk...

Please don't misunderstand, I am thankful for the suggestions, I just wanted to add information that better describes myself and further refines the search.

And a final note, since I will be traveling with my girlfriend, if you happen to see me gassing up in the midst of Oregon, sipping a vegan soy latte, while she negotiates the price for a piece of beaded art with roadside trans-gender african americans, please try not to rub it in too hard... I'd appreciate it.
