Great idea though if you ask me.
How about on the trunk lid...like the Mason badge (Sahib temple, etc)? There would be double faced tape involved, and the back would have to be flat, not concave.

Joe, as with the OBK badge, I think your best bet will be to get some ideas for a design, throw together a couple versions and just go with it. If someone really wants a badge, they'll go with it even if it's not exactly the design they'd like. Even though I wasn't around when the MercedesShop badge discussions started, it seems as though previous attempts failed while 3000 different designs (roughly ) were proposed with no consensus.

The OBK badges TheDon got made are a heckuva lot more substantial than I was expecting. Nice, heavy cast, chrome plated, black enamel lettering and OBK logo. Just buy a couple of fender washers for mounting and you're good to go. You won't be disappointed.

Count me in.

I still have the old graphics on my back up drive, some of the idea's were spectacular.

I am awaiting the reply from Bill to let me go ahead and start planning.. we only have to deal with the copyright issue of using the star.. which was probably fixed in the older thread.. with the OBK badges we just used a three spoke steering wheel ^_^

The badge can be made into a wrench.. I am waiting for the sample to come back.. but I am not really sure a wrench type would work... I like the octagon idea or a globe...

you guys can input on it as well

I have set up an email account to handle this as well as a spreadsheet for record keeping

if you are interested in a badge( waiting on the prices for the things)

send your name(as well as your mercedesshop screen name), address( where to ship the thing) to

GrillBadges@gmail.com

and then I will email back my address for payment when I have that settled..

I will accept paypal.. but I will tack on a 4% fee because paypal likes to make money off transfers

Shipping

I will give options ... USPS regular mail.. or UPS( 10$ added to the cost of the badge compared to 5$ for USPS)

For this to go through I need a minimum order of 40 badges

I will have artwork for the mock badges soon.. maybe within the afternoon

$3 and a badge (for the OBK badges) weren't enough given all of your time, legwork, packaging and shipping so make sure you take all of that into consideration when you set the price.

Yeah set the price so you don't get screwed.

Just come up with a design and go with it, everyone will never agree on one. But IMHO if its possible we should do the wrench logo.

Bill has to approve of any design.. I can't design graphics.. not my stuff... so I am letting them work with the current logo for Mercedesshop

I charged 30$ for the badges on schumans.. that included the badge, shipping, packing as well as the washers which I thought came with the thing

I personally dont think a wrench shaped badge would be good but maybe a globe with the wrench in the center extending out of the sides

Whatever, as long as a badge gets made I don't care about the design.

Joe, make them B.Y.O.W. (Buy Your Own Washers)

I splurged and bought some stainless lock nuts, too, to keep it securely in place. Although as smooth and vibration free as this thing is, it's probably overkill

nah.. I'll include everything for the badges... I learned that with the first ones..

I think like 35$ should be a good amount for these

35$ for the 1st and 30$ for the rest(if you buy more than one)

Do you want some shipping envelopes or are you all set with them?

I've never had problems having stuff shipped to me via the mail at my commercial address or shipping to a commercial address, but residential to residential has been a crapshoot.
