Favorite current MLB pitcher?

Who do you guys like as far as MLB pitchers go, that is current ones?

I am a big Tim Wakefield fan. The knuckler is filthy.

Do you mean whom are we a fan of, or whom would we want on the mound in a crucial game right now? Different answers ...

Best in the game right now, I go with Webb. The guy has gotten some attention for his scoreless streak recently, but he's always been underrated. Got jipped out of the NL Rookie award in 2003 and I ranted about that how great he was at the time ... he's lived up to what I thought of his capabilities.

Agree on Wakefield, although with the knuckle you're either on or off. Beckett is serious business. I really like Bedard, though, and think he's one of the few things the O's have going in their favor. He is a solid pitcher and I think will be for years.

If you want to know favorites: Mark Prior (don't laugh ... I haven't given up ... ), Bedard, Maddux, Zack Greinke (great talent, lots of emotional struggles for this kid), Josh Towers, Glavine, Bronson Arroyo, Schilling ... I have a lot I follow. Pitching is my favorite part of baseball, by far.

Wake is still getting it done. Let's hope he can keep it up in the post-season. If the kb is off, it's OFF. The cool thing with Wake is that he's willing to eat up innings if he has to, he doesn't care if he's getting shelled, to save the pen.

Two young guns I like watching pitch are Chris Young-SD (9-5 but 2.38 ERA) and Johan Santana-MIN. I don't get to see Bedard-BAL or Peavy-SD pitch often, but they have definite shut-down potential.

Beckett is usually fun to watch. Dice-K is an enigma. The guy gets no run support, always shoots himself in the foot in an inning or two, yet he still has 13 wins.

I don't have a favorite pitcher. How 'bout my favorite ewer? Favorite caraffe? There's a decanter that I'm very attached to . . .

Ya, wake can do it

The knuckler has really been on lately. I saw him against the D-Rays back on the 13th...only two hits!

It really can make the opposition look silly.

Should've pitched him against the Yankees....you have all these superstars..Dice-K, Schilling, Okajima...and old timers like Wake have more wins.
