Its amazing people fall for this stuff. I get a couple of them a day, but the good old Google spam filter catch's most. Damn that spam filter is smart.

These guys are pretty dumb, would it kill them to run the email through a program like MS Word before sending it? You would think they would at least make an effort to come across as American, or professional as the case may be. But I guess the people that buy this crap are dummer.

They probably couldn't understand what they are trying to type any more than if you were to write an e-mail in Russian or Portuguese. Even with a spell checker, they still wouldn't get the grammar correct or know what the proper words are for the situation.

Example, I got this one after listing my computer on craigslist last week.
Quote:
Hi seller,
How are you today? I saw the advert for your item on craigslist and I'm interested in buying it,please let me know if the item is still available for sale and how much will be your best offer.
I wait to read from you asap.Thank you.
Nobody in the USA uses the word "advert" and "how much will be your best offer" does not make any sence at all since the seller does not offer a price.

Seriously, people fall for such obvious scams?

You guys are funny!

I notice you got the Bank stated as Bank of Singapore.

People in asia get those from Bank of England and such.

They have some intelligence after all.

The success of these scams is based on the GREED of the typical person.

Looking Brian Calrton's signature line, " The average person is a moron", got me thinking..... Half of the people are below average.
Except here on OD and in Lake Woebegon where, as we all know, "...all the children are above avaerage"

How very sad..all of the above. Now, as a solid American senior looking to that great showroom in the sky I am very pleased to offer you my interest in a certain Bridge in a large East cost city. Simply post your full name and address, SS number and Bank name or send a check ( Cash will do it) to my address, in the small amount of $25 buck-a-roos. Said address held by web-master on a commision base. This will give you all the information you will need. Be Rich In A Year!!! Jambo17

I got one of those a couple yars ago. I had an old junk tractor I posted on a old junk tractor web site, offering it as a non-running parts tractor, for free. This moron writes to me claiming to be a purchaser of agriculture equipment for his village, and wanted to know "the condition and price" of my tractor! I actually wrote back, after his second email, knowing it was a scammer, and told the idiot "as stated in the posting, it's a non-running parts tractor, for free".
Never heard from him again.
Not only do they think we're all stupid, but they're even STUPIDER!(is that a word?)
