I spoke with Mike Tangas about an hour ago and he said all is well and the closest fire is about a mile from his house, if the prevailing winds stay the way they are he will be OK. He's working OT keeping looters in line and maintaining order.

Thanks Howie. I know you communicated our best wishes. I couldn't think of a better man to have as a neighbor under these circumstances.

Again. I like the fact on this forum that as different as members are and disagree/etc, when the going gets tough they put that aside and help each other out. I must say I'm proud to be part of it even if I can't do much more than give moral support.

I saw the news tonight here and it appeared that Arnie is there in the middle of this? I sincerely hope he is helping and not just getting publicity. I could be wrong, but it appeared he was doing what matters.

After almost dieing last year, I guess it's easy for me to say I'm just happy I'm still alive so won't say the obvious.

Again. Be careful, all of you and our hearts are there in spirit.

Damn, that'd be hell to be out protecting other's homes and come back and find yours looted or burned.

Let's hope that doesn't happen.

Damn this is bad. At least Mike is ok for now, hopefully he dodged it. Hopefully we get a good report from Matt as well.

We just had to evacuate our horse from a ranch in Bonsall; I was told there was a mandatory evac in the area around San Louis Rey.

This is nuts. We just tried to get into Fallbrook, but they had every single road blocked, including all the ways through Sleeping Indian. Everything in Bonsall is fine right now, the Fallbrook fire is pretty far from the river.

I was trying to figure where you are at. Do you live near Santa Yzabela? If you are 10 miles from ramona, and 13 miles from valley center, thats the only place that I can think of. HOpe are you ok.

My mom's side of the family were all evacuated, but they returned back tonight. My mom is actually in San Diego (poway) with her sisters and dad.

I went to Rancho Bernardo High School, so quite a few of my friends either had their houses burned or nearly burned. Crazy....Its dry in socal outside of the main developments.

Glad you hear your OK Matt!

1/3 of its value! You better get that fixed ASAP, if it got burned you would be totaly screwed. At least with insurance you can rebuild.
