Before LeBenz decided to hang out elsewhere, he told me about the little thin cooling fan dealies that you put under your laptop and plug into a USB port.

I had noticed that the desk under my laptop would get pretty hot after an hour or so. The built in interior cooling fan on all that I've seen are pretty useless.

I've been using one ever since and it definitely keeps it much cooler. LeBenz was saying that heat is what ages laptops. Thing costs around $40 or less, IIRC. Cheap insurance.

I have had 2 IBM Deskstar "Dell" notebook drives die on me but it's the drive QC that is the problem not the computer brand in this case. The issue is compounded by the fact that dell does not replace warrantied items with new ones just questionable refurbished ones....as all the other companies do to save money.
