Toxic Workplaces

Into my second week of the new job, I am realizing just how insidious the effects of being in a toxic environment nine or ten hours a day, five days a week can be.

I miss being around other people while I'm in my office, but don't miss the bad atmosphere that place had. If you're in one of those jobs, biding your time to collect a pay check, I highly recommend finding another job ASAP.

Oh man, you need to read the post by Bot about the chicken rendering plant

Just kidding Tom, congrats on the new job. I hope your special person makes an appropriate congratulatory gesture/gift

I hear you and am at present, standing in the door of the aircraft, parachute strapped tight, waiting for the green light to blink. It should be coming on in the 2nd week of December; the day they distribute our semi-annual bonus.

From previous posts, most everyone here knows how I feel about the pinhead manager I work for. His bull***** antics reached the tipping point about two weeks ago at which point my attitude was so bad, my bride insisted, no demanded, that I find something else to do before it killed me.

I have.

Yes, Randy, I have read of YOUR discontent, my friend. I hope that bonus check will be worth the wait. Life's too short to spend it working for pin heads.

I did. I've had one or two jobs like that. It's amazing what an empty stomach can make one do.

I hope she does, too! Woohoo!

I'm in a toxic workplace thanks to the herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.

But work environment definitely goes a long way towards happiness! You're new job lament about missing being around other people was my wife's biggest obstacle when she decided that she wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. She really missed, and still does, adult conversation during the day. Something I'm not capable of providing, I guess.

It'll be the best thing you'll ever do. Well, very well close to it.
