1969 Honda SL90 my first MC......picture was taken at night during a snowstorm in Omaha, Nebraska in my parent's driveway. It was idling, *note the wheels were full of freshly fallen snow........I had a ball riding that bike during the Wintertime in our neighborhood. I paid $416.00 for it new. Rode it 13K miles.

With the $9,300 worth of stock you can probably buy several new Vette's. OTOH if you had kept that car and in perfect condition, what would it be worth today? $5k maybe?

Cars are such bad places to put money.

Maybe $15K tops, for the '77 L-82 today..... I realized at the time, (insight of a 26 year old) it would never be a classic as the early '70s and '60s Vettes would become.

I agree. Buying stock in companies is much more fruitfull over time. BRK.A & BRK.B (Berkshire-Hathaway, Inc.) is one example of a magnificent stock to own for the looooong -- term. --Lot more exciting watching it grow, than a driveway full of diesels.......remember Skid's rule.......you can only drive one at a time, who needs two great cars???.......get ONE you can afford, invest the rest in real estate or the stock market, and enjoy your ONE diesel!

When you're 65, you can keep a new paid-for SL, OR a classic SL in your high-rise condo garage, you and your wife fly down to for the Winter...... Leaving your diesel back in Michigan, or wherever for the cold Winter.
