Those clips address the delimma that I have with modern Mercedes. I started out with this marque as a child in the back seat of a ponton. You could feel the presence of the craftsmen who built the car. You knew that everything was hand made. There was a connection with men who made the car. I think I keep trying to find that connection and continue to be disappointed. That includes the engineers that designed the cars. Everything seemed to be given the highest possible intellect at the the time. It startles me to realize that I am probably older than most of the engineers that are designing Mercedes these days and they are probably a bunch of IPOD listening characters who have no appreciation for the true essense of a Mercedes. Though I suppose the W140's and the new W221's come close.

Talk about hand made,,,, Porsches have more spot welds per panel than any vehicle we have ever worked on. A real PITA when you change a 1/4 panel.
