Well tell you what. It will surely be easy to run over cars, even big ones. That torque is definitely locomotive grade.

I know a farmer who has a fairly late model moggie that he uses to fix drainage tiles and such. It has trenchers and such on it. We buy this very excellent beef from him. One of these days I will have to drive up and have a look at it.

I'm giving serious thought to it when I retire in a few years. There's a club that does the trip every few years. I posted a link in a thread here in past couple of weeks. Been eyeing the possible MB vehicles. I linked to a 4WD 814 truck recently that looked possible. The Unimog is without doubt the best vehicle for the more rugged parts of the journey but on the older models the top speed is too low for the more civilized portions of the trip. So at the moment I'm leaning toward a 4WD van or truck as the optimal rig.
If you go to the club website and look at the pictures of the 2006 trip, you'll see a standard crappily built European motorhome that made the trip. She had to be pulled through some bad sections by another vehicle on the trip--a Unimog I think.
