Blizzard!
Well, maybe not a blizzard by technical definition, but we had about 10 to 12" last night and it blew so there are some fairly decent drifts.
Our house has a long roofline facing south that has 12 large skylights facing south for passive solar gain. When we got up the snow had them covered solid. My wife likes that look calling it a snow cave. But the sun has melted it all enough that the snow is beginning to slide off the skylights and the house is beginning to light up with the sun streaming in. In the winter the sun at midday comes all the way to the North side of the house and lights it all up more than it does in the summer. Passive heat and passive lighting. It helps drive away the winter blues. Each time I hear a large chunk of ice and snow break loose from our skylights I just grin. Tom W
