Anybody read German?!?!

Anybody read German?!?!
PLASTERED driver on the autobahn

http://www.osthessen-news.de/beitrag_A.php?id=1143951

39 year old woman on autobahn (A-7) from Viernheim driving near Bad Hersfeld

Lead paragraph:"What luck! an absolutely intoxicated driver was arrested Saturday for DWI blood alcohol level 0.485%. (you read correctly - 6 times the legal limit) She was stopped for driving very slowly, unsafely and stopping on the autobahn in the LEFT lane to make a phone call. When the police officer opened the door he noticed a 'VERY strong alcohol odor.' No accident was reported."

Motor vehicle operation must be genetic to Germans, even plastered ones. I'm guessing she smelled like she was preserved.

In Germany its instant bye bye to your license. She'll be riding a bicycle real soon. Also, don't hit a cyclist or other pedestrian, again bye-bye license.

Yep, they have a zero tolerance for drunk driving. Get caught...its over. Simple as that. Get caught driving w/out license, then you're really in for it.

I think the first DUI offense = 30 years with no license or something, and if it happens after that, no license ever again. Not sure on that though.

Imagine how much oil that could save our country! We'd have nice open roads with no pickups on them! (J/K! ) The roads would certainly be a lot safer though. I see at least one DUI accident/related death in the news here locally every few days! We're way too lenient.

I'd go for that. Way too many folk here driving drunk. It is unfortunate that a lot of them down in TX and OK also don't have a valid license and also don't habla................
