I got a cordless mouse!

I went wireless!:D I'm scared of all this new technoligy, but the cord on my mouse was always getting caught and pissing me off. So I went and bought a Logitech V450, cool little mouse, very sensitive.

Just bought one today also for the same reasons. The only way to go.

I agree, I've been using a wireless mouse and keyboard for over a year now. My only complaint about the mouse is that it chews through batteries quickly. But not having cables running over your desktop cleans things up nicely, and it makes it easier for my wife, who is an oddball and uses the mouse to the left of the keyboard.

What keyboard brand are you using?

I thought wireless keyboards would chew through batteries a lot more and faster than a wireless mouse.

Unless they've improved in past 3-4 years (and they may have), that sucker will go through batteries like a rottweiler goes through steaks. Prepare yourself.

It is a Logitech set. The keyboard is great on batteries, I think I've only had to change them once. The mouse has a little red light inside it that acts in the place of the trackball. I guess running that light burns the batteries down quickly.

Moving up hattie...

I have had a wireless keyboard/mouse for at least 5 years now. I have killed like 3 wireless keyboards, and countless mice...

I went back to wired keyboards, as it takes me about a year to kill them, as opposed to 6 months... But my wireless mice... I kill them almost yearly... And I replace the batteries bi weekly... Damn you Logitech... Helping other companies by eating battereis.

The wireless V220 Logitech I'm using, doesn't have the laser-light deal. It does have a Off-On switch on the bottom......but the package says it turns Off by itself without activity in 15=seconds. The V220 will operate with the Windows Vista system.

You all do realize that you can buy a rechargeable mouse right?

Mine is rechargeable, but it eats those (new) faster than just regular AA batteries...

Not to mention I also have an endless supply of batteries from my work...

You also may want to try the Microsoft Notebook Mouse made by Logitech. I use mine eight to ten hours a day and change the battery around every six months. I turned a lot of people at work onto it and they love it.

Is it Bluetooth?

I have a Bluetooth one I got from Microsoft last time I renewed my MSDN.

I have Bluetooth is my Lenovo Laptop, and its sweet not having an external reciever.

The battery still lasts like a month at best though...

Depending on what I am doing, I may use my Laptop like 6-10 hours a day.

No, it's an RF mouse. I picked up this BT mouse this week for my laptops. Charges in the PC slot.

Well according to the package the batteries are supposed to last a year, which is why I paid a bit more for this one. Well see.

After my next closing I'd like to get a wireless keyboard, and my friend has a Logitech speaker system that I really like.
