I was talking to someone the other day and we both felt like Christmas had already come and gone. It seems almost as if people are just not in the holiday mood as much as in past years.

Is this perception unique to us, or do you guys feel the same way. If you do, what do you attibute this lack of holiday cheer to?

1. Job losses
2. Impending home loss as a result of job loss and mortgage meltdowns
3. Inability to purchase gifts as a result of job loss
4. Fuel and heating costs
5. The continued erosion of Christmas as a result of the PC crowd mandating less emphasis on Christ and more on the generic "holiday"

I think we lost it when we forgot about the origins of Saturnalia.

What do small GM economy cars have to do with Christmas?

Actually, I just read the link. I think the "strange" element in that story explained a lot. Of course, had they led with that, nobody would have bothered to read any further.

Still, it seems pretty odd to start cheating on your wife just three months after you got married.

That'll be the last time he asks for Kinzo Steak knives from Santa. True, things to do get heated at the Holidays. Yesterday I went to the mall at 9:00a.m. to exchange something with my boyfriend. When we were going to the car people where lining up for our space and I started laughing about the prospect of the riot that would ensue(sp) had we meerly gone to the car to drop off packages and not really left. Then my boyfriend suggested we just get in the car pull half way out and then pull back in.....I told him that wasn't such a good idea as the East Coast way of settling things ususally invloved a firearm.
