Paypal is a disaster.

Not only can you sell your car and sign-over the title to your car to the owner. The buyer can claim he bought a piece of crap from you, and Paypal will come after you for the money.

The only way to go, is getting a Cashier's Check, deposit it in your bank, then waiting for the check to clear, before giving-up your car OR the title.

Just the right way to do things.

I met a guy a couple of years ago in Chicago and he used bogus complaints to back out of the deal and I was out the fuel and the day's time.

He did buy a different car from me later but he took the bus down here and drove it back. He did not ask me to meet him a second time.....and I would not have.

Unless desperate, get the $150.00 in CASH, before making the trip. The $150.00 you think he'll give you, may disappear into, "it's not what he wants when he sees it."

It's hard to keep from laughing as to the means people take, to ensure losses to try to sell their cars...........

Now just how do you suggest that I get the $150 in cash first with him in Detroit and me in Lafayette Indiana?

And your second paragraph appears to be an attempt to insult me but the wording is so unusual that the meaning is completely lost. So if you wouldn't mind rewording it, I will be glad to get insulted later, or if it is not meant as an insult, well.....I will be happy to apologize for thinking wrongly of you.

The buyer would have to be an absolute moron to give you a cashier's check and then wait the five days required for the check to clear.........prior to receiving title.

Nobody buys a car in that manner.

You are totally wrong. Several years ago, I sold a 280SL to someone who's wife raised hell about it. He did claim it was a piece of crap among other things and filed a paypal dispute. All I did was show proof of delivery (signed bill of sale) and paypal found in my favor very quickly. You seem to be giving advice on things here that you have no clue about.
