The SETI@home team is
asking for more volunteers to help in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). Recent sensor upgrades to the world's largest radio telescope in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, are overwhelming SETI's ability to process the data. The 1,000 foot Arecibo dish is now outputting 300GB per day in data.
As you may or may not know, SETI uses 320,000 PC's to make up what is essentially a super computer. You go to their website,
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ , download their software and your computer helps SETI in it's spare time by becoming part of their "super computer".
