My doggy, is Preggy...

She's due, on or about the 20th of this month. She looks like a Thankgiving Turkey. Doubled her weight, and build, in the past few weeks alone.

Feels weird to be a, soon to be Grandpa.

Well, There are possibly two sires..
On November 19th I bred her with a neighbor's pure bred Jack Russell, because I didn't know anyone with an un-cut male Minature Dacshund. A stroke of Irony came later that day, and I met a kid who owned a one year old, pure bred, Male Miniature Dacshund. We put the two of them together the the next day, on the 20th of November. I've been told that dogs can conceive from multiple partners and have a combo of both breeds, and still some pure bred pups. I know that both of the males, and her, got "Locked up" both days, so who knows which sire actually worked, or possibly, if both of them worked. I hope the Russell, didn't work though. I really hope I get a few pure bred Dacshund pups out of the deal. Everyone just keep fingers crossed for Dacshund pups, and not mixed. Either way, it won't be so bad, and they'll be cute, smart etc. but I prefer Dacshunds.

Cigars...lol

Looks like she's got a lot of them onboard for ya! Bet they'll be awfully darn cute either way. If the puppies can jump up higher than your head shortly after birth, you'll know the father was the Jack Russell ...

LOL, Yeah, that's for sure. They'll be cute either way, and Jack Russells, and Miniature Dacshunds are both extremely smart, clean, and playful breeds. None of the three adults, are very much for barking, and all three are pure bred to begin with. It doesn't matter very much who the father is, but understandably, I'm still leaning towards the Dacshund. I can't help if she's a bit of a floozy. After all, she watches me with different women all the time for one thing. For another thing...She is a red head...(Her color, as far as the Dacshund community is concerned, is defined as, "RED") I still love her, and she's all I have in the world.

My Dog-Ter...

I don't blame you there ... sometimes pets just "hit the spot" where people can't. I don't know where I would be without my cat. He had surgery last week because he got an infection that I missed, and I was so afraid I was going to lose him .. doing fine now though, just looks silly ...

Think you'll keep any of the pups?

You might want to try a different type of collar. That can't be much fun . . .

He started with one of the newer, soft kind, but he figured out how to fold it under itself so that he could lick the wound. Cats are such flexible little escape artists, it's hard to keep the licking in check. He adjusted to the plastic one pretty fast, but boy was he glad when I took it off yesterday. I swear he was smiling as he freely cleaned himself ...

Planning on keeping ONE of the puppies. Hope for atleast a female or two in the litter. Last night and this morning, I was touching her belly, and I could feel the babies moving around, their shapes, and I could actually even watch them move from the outside. Very exciting. I could feel atleast two seperate dogs, two heads a few inches apart from each other. Either it's one, two headed puppy, or two, really small puppies. The possible father, a Jack Russell from next door, is two headed, seven legged and only has one ear, and one eye on each head.....lol, but the other possible father, is a one headed two eared, two eyed, Minature Dacshund... I suppose we'll find out when they are born.
