1000000 Miles On A Chevy!

In the Detroit News, this morning. 3000 mile oil changes. 85000 miles a year and how did he keep the rust from disolving it?

Reminds me of my grandfather's 100 year old hammer. It's had the head replaced twice and three handles put on.

Nothing, I imagine. It was General Motors who first came up with the concept of planned obsolesence" I believe.

Your comment reminded me of those "passenger carts" you used to seein SE Asia that were made out of the back end of an old passenger car. They were pulled by some kind of animal just like an old ox cart.

The ad doesn't say which engine his truck has.

I assume most Silverados came with the 350 V8, but it could've come with a six.

well my 92 pickup was bought new by a guy to use as a company vehicle.in 1996 he had 260,000 miles on it so the 100,000 mile sticker in the back window must have been put on in say late 93 early 94.so they had the program at least that far back.if it wasn't for the sticker on my truck i wouldn't have known about it either.

Wow I didn't know they lasted that long! Guess if you drive something 100k a year you can really pile the miles on.

yeah, that's nothing compared to Irv and his Volvo p1800!

I don't think his car has had so many transmission replacements either.
