It's very tempting. But how'd you keep the right angle of the blade?

Solingen steel, works best. Tried out all those fancy Mach 3 triple blades etc. None comes close to this. . . .

That's what I want. I was given a straight razor as a gift last year, but haven't been able to find anywhere to get it sharpened. I've always heard there's no better shave than the one you get with a stright razor.

Hoffritz sells it with the leather and you can use any sharpening stone to sharpen it. I use my Tri Chef sharpner.

Cherrydale Hardware in Arlington, Va on Lee highway. There is a guy who comes in once a week to sharpen stuff.

I thought maybe there was something special about how they were sharpened that precluded using an ordinary sharpening stone. I'll try that. Thanks.

I can't use electric razors and I've never been able to come across a blade razor that didn't cause problems either.

Until I took a friend's recommendation to use this stuff, I could only shave as often as it took to heal between shaves. This stuff allows me to shave everyday with no agony. Tend Skin

To whet the razor you need to use the leather, sharpening is not required often and any ordinary sharpening stone should suffice. Some good info here at http://www.knifecenter.com/knifecenter/sharpen/instrazor.html

Thanks, I'll have to stop in there the next time I'm in Arlington.
