Was just listening to Glen Beck talking about this. It's more of a joke than I imagined. Only 19% of people surveyed will actually go buy something with it. The rest will either put it in savings, or pay down existing debt.
Oh, and those spending it, well, all we'll do is make China's economy stimulated. I'll probably do something boring, like pay down debt(what little I have)

Spend? I'm going to do the right thing and ensure it does not enter the economy for the next 10 years by putting every penny in a savings account and sitting on it.
Bush wants you to blow it on useless cr@p right away because he thinks screwing our children's future even more to get a quickie economy "boost" will somehow benefit the country.

I think I'd be getting $1800 or so; it'll go into savings. Only Congress can authorize this - Bush doesn't get any blame/reward.
