Does anyone here have 'Amazon Prime Membership' and is it worth $79? Guess it depends on how much you order

That's exactly right. And how much your in a hurry to get your stuff. I used it during the trail period. It's pretty quick. Some make it even over night for $1.99.
I think it only applies for items you order directly from amazon, not from 'amazon market place' meaning an other vendors. I'm not sure though.

I didn't keep it, just got to give it some time to receive your stuff. Amazon has well paced shipping going. Other vendors through the amazon market place take a lot more time.

They have funny ways like this:
A vendor sends me 3 different shipping confirmations on 3 different days, for one and the same order Good thing I have patience ...

We've had it for the last year. Initially I thought the price was kind of steep and probably not worth it. After this year I kind of like it. It's very nice with books, especially textbooks that you have to have right away. I also use it a lot for various tools and electronics. I should point out that we live in the middle of nowhere. The nearest Best Buy or bookstore of any size is about 100 miles away so it might not be a good idea for someone who is closer to such amenities.

The only thing I do is make sure I buy enough to get the Super Saver Shipping.

Nearly everything comes in one or two days anyway, no matter how I choose to ship it.
