A380 Flight Deck

Figure the Pilots up here would appreciate this.

The rest of us can just enjoy it.

That looks like a pretty flimsy lock on what should be a reinforced cockpit door. I hope there is more to it that we can't see.

Very cool, thanks for posting this. Anyone know if the seat behind the first officer is for a Flight Engineer?

Mother-In-Law's seat?
Oh, wait...is the 1st Officer's seat the one on the right?

I though you meant that little fold-up thingie in the left-rear corner of the cockpit...

BTW, that's the first time I've had a panoramic-view of anything load in on my computer and actually worked! (Even though I have an error message stating that the download was not complete).

Thanks for the view!

That is very cool. The red button on the stick is probably the radio mic keyer. I'm not sure I could get used to flying with my left hand. One thing I find dissapointing is the notice on the door held on with crappy masking tape... You'd think there would be a dedicated holder or something.

Missles!

So what does the pilot actualy do on these new planes? Don't they take off and land themselves? So all you do is sit back with a drink and make sure the computer does it right?

Jump seat for an observer. No FE.

Auto-Pilot override.

Not much…. Answer the radio.
(Until things start to go wrong.)

Very nice view indeed. That laptop looks kind of aged- looks out of place among those cool looking avionics.

At the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum there's a completely automated simulation display. It's pretty cool to watch.
