So basically it's colder this year in some places than it has been in a while. I'm convinced. Last year it was warmer than it had been in a while, so I had been convinced of global warming.

The more correct term is climate change as the warming is not uniform or consistent. The planet as a whole however is still unusually warm at the surface considering the sun's activity over the last 50 years or so. In fact the stratosphere (upper atmosphere) has been getting cooler in the last several decades so it's pretty hard to blame the sun for the recent warming near the surface. That's one fact that the global warming deniers are usually ignorant about.

I'm confident nature will be fine. The earth's at least 4 billion years old for christ's sake, no way we can kill it in 200 years. We'll kill eachother before the earth is killed.

You're right the planet will be fine. It just may no longer be as hospitable to us little humans. But I'd still rank nuclear warfare and asteroid hits as more likely to wipe us out completely.

John Coleman wants to sue Al Gore for fraud. Coleman, who founded the Weather Channel in 1982, thinks taking legal action against Al Gore would be a great "vehicle to finally put some light on the fraud of global warming." Coleman rejects the notion that people must take drastic actions to reduce their energy use.

Speaking at the 2008 International Conference on Climate Change on Monday, Coleman sharply chastised those who further global warming alarmism. Coleman believes that the station he founded has been captured by alarmists, such as the Weather Channel’s Heidi Cullen, who has advocated revoking the license of meteorologists that believe global warming can be explained by cyclical weather patterns and not human activity.

The majority of the scientific community seems to agree that humans are contributing to climate change. Do you think there's any merit to raising concerns about global alarmism? Would a lawsuit against Al Gore help the public determine fact from fiction?

Absolutely not. At least in this country people in general are clueless and they want the government to "fix" climate change while they continue to drive their pickups and SUV's. Few people want to sacrifice anything unless their neighbors go first and then they might think about it. But the reality is that oil will continue to get more expensive and people and governments will have to change their ways regardless of climate change.

Given the average jury and judges and lawyers, do you think scientific questions should be subject to court determination?

Another good point. Evolution barely survived the last time it was in court.
