I love this! I'm glad to see an agressive US company really sticking it to companies overseas. They do it to us, so payback sucks.

Microsoft should start selling Vista to Sudia Arabia at 10X the price it is here.

What. You were not trying to make any point about any laws.
You have just been whining about how you think liberals whine.

I was the one that talked about morals, ethics, and laws that some people live by, not you.

The only crying there has been is from you.

I read the other day that MS was reducing the price of the home operating systems (XP Home, XP Pro and Vista were the ones that I noticed), but they are discontinuing the upgrade option for many emerging countries. The rational is that very few people there are running legal copies.

MS enforcing their desire to be paid for their OS is one thing. I have no problem with that. While I don't directly pay for MS operating systems, my employer pays a huge MSDN bill every year, and has volume licenses for those product uses not covered by MSDN.

I do have a problem with MS being actively anticompetitive. The last time they were busted, it was for giving ISVs about half of the Windows API. This ensured that Microsoft-developed products were better integrated into the OS and faster to develop than those of any competitor. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the MS products are better, but I'm sure that they are in some cases.

The only scene that is being made is the conservatives, griping about
how they think the liberals gripe.

You would be hard pressed to even annoy me.
I want peace and contentment for you as much as I do for myself.

This is just one more case of a conservative whining about how
he thinks a liberal is whining.

You cannot comprehend the way a liberal thinks.
You do not understand compassion.
And you definitely do not know my emotions.

So quit trying to assign character defects to me, like getting "bent out of shape" easily.
And take a look at your own life.

I will bet the negative things you point at in other people are the defects
that you posses.

Go ahead, give it a try.
Take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror,
and ask yourself if you get "bent out of shape" easily.

Not me. My comment above (which seems to have been ignored) was quite on-topic and not looking for a fight.

I don't mind that MS got big. I don't even mind that Gates was quite sneaky in selling an OS that he didn't own, back in the seventies. People sell things that they don't own all the time; he made it big off of it, but he could as easily lost his shirt and then some.

In the process creating an amazing company that should be in the vangard of technoligy for decades to come. The icing on the cake is that its American, creates a ton of jobs, and pays a lot of taxes.

Microsoft probably writes a bigger check to the government every year, then everyone on this forum put together will pay in taxes over there life times.
