Yale University Police Department announced on 3/27/08 that three of their students were victims of a street robbery on Elm St. The robbery occurred at approximately 12:25 am. The subject approached the students, displayed a handgun and demanded money. No injuries were reported. While this may have been an isolated incident, the police department wants to remind the SCSU community to be extra careful and vigilant when in the downtown area and areas surrounding our campus.

WTF were they doing walking on Elm street at 12:30, they were probably white too which down their is just screaming to get robbed.

Anyway they won't let those of us that need guns to have them on campus. Even though Yale and my school are in this wonderfull dump of a 3rd world city. When a home boy pulls a gun on you as you are walking back to your car...it would be nice to be able to shoot back.

Hasn't changed a bit since I was there in the late 70's..I remember having to rescue by bosses daughter (she was at Trinity) from a "house party" when her "friends" decided to loop he up with GBH and King Cobra and call Daddy on her cell and get some Benjamons.
Imagine the look on their faces when 6 HUGE Teamsters crashed the place to "recover" the kid and stayed to have their own party.
New Haven has only changed from black/rican to black/mex/guatamalan/ecuadorian and as usual the kids at NH think they are immune to the world.

Oh yeah its a strange and intersting place. Its like Westport and Bridgeport put into one. On one hand you have very wealthy privilaged kids, and normal kids, mixed in with gang bangers and drug dealers.

Go to the clubs on weekends and you name the car it will be their, MB's and BMW's, Corvettes, classic muscle cars, are a dime a dozen, only a Ferrari or Bentley GT will attract attention. However go three streets over and its all deep section 8 drug dealing poverty. Wonder off the path or lose your head at your own risk.

As a result of this its almost a police city, SCSU and I am sure Yale has a small army of cops they hire. SCSU alone probably has more cops on staff than many towns do. The wealthy parts hide behind police protection and try to pretend the bad isn't their or something.

I hate it, I really don't like any of the Havens.
