TO MB or NOT to MB???
I own a 85 300DT, and I'm planing on buying a newer MB.
I will refuse to drive an AUTOMATIC, and I was thinking abt. a 2000sh 230C Kompressor with a 6 sp manual. I have been reading abt them for a couple of months, and I can only find horror stories about them. Electrical problems galore, so many ECU's even for winshield wippers??? that go bad, fuel gauge won't display amount of fuel right, tires worn out after 20k miles or less..etc...etc.. Any owners of this model on the forum that can give me some advice?? Do I really have to buy a Toyota Celica nowadays instead of the M.B???

If it was me, I would go with a Toyota. If I was to ever buy another Mercedes, it would be something built before 1995...

Those old C-classes are just pretty lame all around. At least the 3 series BMWs are fun to drive.

If you want a stick get a BMW, MB doesn't really do those.
If you can live without a stick but still want to shift get a MB with a 722.9 so you can get the flappy paddles, err well buttons on these. Something like a CLK550 with the sport package should keep all but the most die hard racers happy. You can get the new C with a stick, thats a nice little car.

Also, a car as small as a Corolla should do better then 35mpg on the freeway. I don't don't mean to insult your car, but my a1988 Volvo 244 get 33mpg and it weighs 3300 LBS
