Jeez...
Lance, my B-I-L, was supposed to come up last night and help me today and tomorrow installing the ceiling lumber in the cabin. He called yesterday afternoon and reported that he was unable to move his left hand or fingers. Emergency appointment with the neurologist today at 11:00...this in addition to the chronic back pain he's already experiencing.
He lists about 500-750 items a week on eBay and types fast enough to make Mavis Bacon look like a beginner so, he is basically out of business now.
I've never met anyone with worse luck than that man and the list of **** that's happened to him is as long as your arm. Damn, it doesn't even seem like the deities are listening because, when I was in Warsaw last fall, Sharon (my sis-in-law) and I were at the Holy Cross Church on Krakowskie Przedmiescie Street (Chopin's heart is in one of the pillars there) and spotted an altar with a place to pray to St Jude (patron saint of lost and hopeless causes). I bought a candle for Lance, got down on my knees, prayed and even plopped down 50 Zloty to sweeten the pot.
Something just isn't right.
