But you would not call me a *****. I am male. She cannot change her gender (reasonalby speaking) so that is just like a racial slur. Your argument is like some people I know who say there are black folks and there are N's. See its not an appororiate label.....not in my book.

He seems very cosy with the Vietnamese. For a guy that spent time at the "Hanoi Hilton" with their great room service and TLC, I find that strange. Makes me wonder about some guy who forgives so easily.

Now there is a good idea. Let them have the same retirement and health benefits that are available to everybody too.

I would say that Mac is forgiving the Vietnamese PEOPLE, not neccessarily the very folks that put him through hell...

Now, if Mac did forgive those particular folks, all the more power to him and his health...I know, personally, that forgiving those very folks that caused you pain can bring very substantial and real relief.

As for Hill-Billy and BO - screw those two...both are shills, empty shells filled with whatever they expect their side to expect from them...and the ingredients change depending on the day, location and make-up of the "diners" who come to feast on their every word...both are beholden to the communist manifesto of: "All for one, and screw the rest, only because, WE know what's best!"

And besides, all the democrats (little people) that think they are deciding who is going to represent THEM in the upcoming November elections are fooling themselves...the only smart ones are whoever is collecting the rent, up front, before they get the keys to the building...the SUPERDELEGATES will tell you folks who you are going to have for your candidate...union sheep - think slaughter and you'll know who will be President - not some female suffering from a MAJOR SUPERIORITY COMPLEX - not some Anti-American Afro-American Shadow-Muslim-Christian - but a real war-hero that doesn't need to parade Purple Hearts in order to garner attention to himself.

Remember - Congress is the only body that makes up the budget, debates the budget, passes the budget and can override a Presidential Veto to keep the budget the way THEY wanted it...the President can ONLY SUGGEST what he wants to see, expect and fund in the budget...and he can either sign it or veto it...

IT'S CONGRESS THAT HOLDS THE PURSE STRINGS...THEREFORE, THE ECONOMY HANGS ON HOW CONGRESS HANDLES THE MONEY AND ALLOWS THE FEDERAL RESERVE TO ACT ON OUR BEHALF. NOT THE PRESIDENT, NOT THE SUPREME COURT OR SOME TOWEL-HEAD SITTING AT AN OPEC-TABLE.

IT'S THE GUY YOU PULLED THE LEVEL, POKED THE CHAD, CONNECTED THE ARROW, COLORED THE CIRCLE OR SHOOK THE HAND OF...

YOUR LOCAL CONGRESS-PERSON.

Folks, the only thing we're voting for here is an executive...the CEO. Nothing more and nothing less...

I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree on that. I never found anything from forgiveness. I get much more joy from spearing my enemy whenever I can.

I agree with the rest. Too many people think the President can do magic. Problem is that Congress will mostly give the President what he wants in the budget AT A PRICE. They will put their own fluff in it and he can sign it or veto it. However, there is only so long that the country can go without a budget before people get antsy so we have a hostage situation.

You clearly underestimate the power of the presidency. When was the last time congress had enough votes to override a veto?

OK. So lets assume they can't override it. What now? The bill gets sent back to congress. Theoretically, they can keep doing it till doomsday or the President gets his way. Fair enough.

Now lets look a the political scene. How long can the President keep sending bills back with a veto? Remember, all these bills, aka hostage situations are tied to something important. So yes, in theory, the President can have his way via making it go back and forth till he gets what he wants and none of the stuff he doesn't want. Let me ask you this, how long do you think we can go without a budget in place and programs die thru lack of funding, etc, etc before the President feels the heat to do meet them halfway? IOW, you don't get everything you want and neither do I?

My point exactly ... the votes are there, it's just the panty-waists that don't/won't/can't use them...

Put people in that don't have "sacred cows" (sorry Hindus!) to protect and then let's see if we start getting hamburger made...

If not, then the man behind that curtain, over there, remains the most powerful...

What was JC before he became President?
What was RR before he became President?
What was GB (41) before he became President?
What was BC before he became President?
What was GWB before he became President?

I still believe that the power resides with the people...otherwise, why are we even bothering with elections, let alone trying to set up other countries so that they can have their own elections? (Don't even start on the "We're trying to take over the world..." BS here on that one!)

The point is: Tell your Congress-person that he/she isn't doing the job they were sent there to do...call 'em everytime they screw up on something.

Better yet...get out there and press the flesh, shake hands and be the face your neighbors never see, the next representative from your area...be a STATESMAN, not a Republican, Democrat, Independant or whatever...

Otherwise...it appears that the cause is just and we'll just keep going to war because (now hold on to your hats folks!) IT'S WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT!

Majority rules!

If you can't over-ride a veto...it's what the people wanted...

If you can't stop funding the war...it's what the people wanted...

If HRC and BO are still punching it out in June...it's what "Operation Chaos" wanted (Sorry, had to throw that little conspiracy-theory in there! )...

My point is this...if you don't like what's happening...talking/writing about it doesn't change it...picking up a "nomination form" and running against the clown does...and if you're not too "out there" - you'll get the clown's attention and cause some problems...but the point is, doing nothing but *****in' won't get the cows milked. Ya' got to get out there and pull teats! Nobody ever said it would be easy (It's not) but you'll know you did it and you did it for the right reasons...

And, get this...Nobody will be there to pat you on the back when you're done...

That's life, son...
