I reached for the clicker when I heard the good Reverend mocking JFK's dialect.

Time for Obama to change tactics?

WHAT???!!! He is throwing fuel on the fires of racial hatred.

I have to wonder. He is singlehandedly driving Obama's campaign into the ditch, the Rightwing NJ's are rubbing their hands with glee as they stand by and watch the slow motion trainwreck. Wright is doing their dirty work for them. Does he not know that? Both he and Al Sharpton may just as well publicly come out in praise of Mc Cain for President.

For a country obsessed with American Idol, Brittney Spears,
Lindsey and Miley Cyrus or whover that latest one is, and the Media that panders to it, this spectacle is manna fron Heaven. For Obama it is a disaster, and he better move quick to put it behind him, otherwise it will get played endlessly, to his great detriment.

If Obama can't contain this, there is a pretty good chance that he will get tossed on the dustheap of history, very soon....

I think Obama should find a way to call out Jeremy Wright, and Al Sharpton unequivocally as horrible lifetime black racists and totally disavow them and their views for all time.

Otherwise it will be "game over" for him.

Has he not remembered that Jesse Jackson's so-called "Rainbow Coalition" of 1984 was basically all BLACK?

I'm thinking that the best route for Nov. is Hillary/Obama.
Clinton
is older and IS more experienced, Obama is too badly wounded to win it all. Hillary and Bill would never settle for the vice presidency while Obama at least has a logical reason to do so, as he was merely a state legislator in the recent past.

McCain has plenty of dirt in his pen, Hagee can be seen on video making remarks on Catholocism every bit as rude as Maher and less rational. And, McCain is dirty as sin with lobbyists.
^^^^There is a saying they have in Peru:

"FIRST DEAD!!!"

On the flip side, one more 'Bush term' ought to make it clear (at the expense of major damage to the nation) that
the Repo vision as currently practiced is just not sound.

I spewed Diet Dr Pepper out of my mouth onto my keyboard when I read that one.

If not delivered with a keenly honed sense of Berkeley irony, it is the gross understatement of the year, artfully pronounced.

Well, it was a bit harsh to be sure, but a lot of blacks have experienced black on black crime and hating. I think Obama spoke to the issue about as well as could be today.

The guy's about 90% jerk. In the Moyers' piece, you could see the guy once had more promise but the spotlight has gone to his head over the years, IMO.

Obama: I'll call you when I'm in the White House

Rev. Wright: F- You whitey

Next day:

Obama: Ok, here's the plan: I've spoken to the powers-that-be at NAACP and you will be their keynote speaker this year. Simply show up, act outrageous, and I will trip over myself disowning you. This should appease those poor white ignorant democrats still clinging to Clinton and plump up my popular vote and delegate count. After we knock her off and trounce McCain in November, we're in business.

Rev. Wright: Excellent! I'm looking forward to becoming a member of your Presidential cabinet!

Obama: Oh, umm, well, it's likely that some residual static about you will remain in place after January. How about a nice juicy Ambassadorship to Haiti?

Rev. Wright: F-You whitey.

I agree with this absolutely.

Just saying I can see how people went over the edge with it.

Don't you think that if Obama did not agree with Wright he would have done that alot sooner?
He's just adressing it now because the media is finally questioning his positions and he can't have that.
Anybody can see that Obama must agree with Wrights positions, but the only reason Obama is finally NOT defending Wrights comments is because he's no longer looking like a media darling so it looks like he needs to do some fast talking, backpeddling, and sidesteppin, in his best mimicked Clintonesque fashion.

Obama has studied the Clintons for far too long as he operates exactly as they do by using their tactics he learned from them.

It does not matter if Obama or Clinton gets elected, they will not differ much at all in their socialist agendas as they are much the same threat of personal liberty to the American people as they both will push for their Marxist type programs and drive as many wedges into the classes that they can in order to make more people reliant on the government.

I'm just glad that Obama's views are being brought to the spotlight because no matter how much he backpeddles, hes already locked in his position on race.

If he was a standup guy or against Wright, he would have denounced that bigoted jackazz a long time ago.

I guess you're right. That stuff only got repeated a few million times. Clear bias. Yes indeed. They should have repeated it a few million more times.

Do you really think that is an accurate description of the way the media covered Clinton and Gore? We could argue about it until we are blue in the face, I suppose, but how about we agree to disagree on it.

...Since every poll of news media people I have ever read flows about 90% democrat/ liberal, I do not see how anyone could think that they were even-handed...
So? I think it is more telling to see who pays their paycheck. NBC, for example, is owned by General Electric. Not exactly a bunch of hippy lefties.

... The media's job is to question everything--they fail miserably...
Especially when reporting Bush propaganda in 2001-2003. Everything W's people put out went right to the front page of the New York Times. It became so obvious that the Times basically had to admit that they dropped the ball.

Botnst 04-29-2008 08:33 PM

I'm postulating (you read it here first) that Obama will turn this to his advantage in a manner similar to Clinton VS Sistah Soljah.

Yes, they should have.
Especially when it comes to murder.

Jim B. 04-29-2008 09:11 PM

You can't seriously mean it.

^^^^^It's good to know that some people around here have such a keenly honed sense of wit and irony as to be able to make statements like that.

That was a good one. Irony and humor delivered deadpan is always the best.

Well, it only took Yo Bomma 20 years to figure out what the Rev. LeeRoy was about.

Wonder how long it will take him to figure what Bernardine Dohrn and William Ayers are all about?

And how 'bout that Dr. Quentin "Venceremos" Young??

Wonder who else was at those meetings??
