I think that stuff is great. Their Tattoo rum is good too.
The Private Stock is as smooth as the 15 year Casa Bacardi I tasted at the plant in the Bahamas.

I think Sammy Hagar's tequila is of the same caliber.
Cabo Wabo reposado, lime juice and Damiana make the best margaritas IMO.

Want to try something even better? Check out this:
http://www.doorlysrum.com/
Very hard to find in the US but it does pop up here and there. Its aged in Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks, ask in, they have already been used for aging sherry. The smoothness this imparts is indescribable. Check it out. RT

Captain's Private Stock is only $19 at our corner CVS pharmacy. Granted that's the reward card price but it's usually only $24 there. Do chain pharmacies sell liquor in your neck of the woods or is that just an AZ thing?

AZ thing, you can only get the hard stuff in puritan CT 6 days a week at liquor stores. You can buy beer at grocery stores, still only 6 days a week.

This is not cheap but it has to be the best rum that I have ever tasted.

Kind of like saying Southern Comfort is a bourbon

Thought all the sailors in CT drank Mount Gay?

Is it much better than the regular Captain Morgan stuff?

Oh man I remember we were doing rum on the cheap, we bought Albertsons brand rum (albertsons is a grocery chain). TERRIBLE... worst stuff I've ever tasted..it made everyone who drank it involuntarily wince and gag.
