New C63

Just wondering if anyone else's jaw dropped and they started drooling when they saw the new commercial for the new C63 AMG doing a power slide through the whole commercial. All while the announcer is saying something to the affect of "300 horsepower is fast... 400 will take your breath away... thats why we gave it 451"

WOW!

I drove one.....

That SOB packs punch. Its wicked fast.

The sound from the motor is insane. Its raspy, and yet refined.... Like the old Jeckyll and Hyde story...

It just looks like it doesn't even need to kick the asses that it could... It would just take the names.

Yep. The first one the dealer got, I drove.

I know someone at my local dealer. He calls me when they get the cool stuff in....

I also have driven the new M3, 335i Coupe/Sedan, RS4, and the IS-F.

The M3 is a sharp car, the precision in the steering is just awesome. The 335i is almost the same feeling, but the 335 feels alot faster than the M3....

The RS4 was glued to the road, even with a 4k RPM launch... (Sales guy said I could )

However, nothing beats the raw power of the C63. Its brutal how much power that thing has got.

No, thats someone else..... The guy with the GT3 is a family friend.

The RS4 was manual.... A sweet one too....

My contact is a personal friends dad.... He is a manager at the MBZ dealership in El Dorado Hills. Hes got a cool job, he is oversees all the dealings with cars that are going on.

He drives an Aston when the weather is nice, and has a 2005 S500 for when the weather is not so nice.

It sucks that AMG took away the supercharger.

451hp? probably closer to 600hp if they put some boost into it.

They took away the supercharger, as they want to get into turbocharging.

A friend of mine has one. Went to a local meet recently, needless to say that tunnel probably sounded differently had I have my windows open!

Mercedes C63 - 'ax murderer with headlights' - Jeremy Clarkson.

From the looks of things, you wouldn't want any more horsepower in that chassis. On Top Gear, they test drove it and Clarkson could barely keep it on the track, it broke loose on every corner. Even the Stig had trouble with it. That 6.2L V8 that Mercedes has made is an incredible engine. The E and S class versions have the engine fully unlocked and I think it is over 500 hp. Won't be long before people chip out the C63's to unlock them.

Reminds me of my brother's old '76 Trans Am with the 6.6L V8 (Smokey and the Bandit car). That thing was mental. Hit the gas too hard and it would spin itself in circles. Downright frightening to drive. The C63 is like a high-tech version of the same principle.

NA engines are always better, they are much crisper and you don't get the turbo lag, also the power delivery is very smooth.

That thing already has enough power, didn't you see the Top Gear test where they could hardly keep it on the track?

Nice car though, I wonder how much more power Brabus could get out of it.

The C63 is nice, but I'll wait for a gently used S65. The 12'er pulls like a train, nothing else like it.

Trans Am? Not quite... stock those things put out less than 200HP, though 300+ ft-lbs torque. Good ole emissions choked cars of the 70's
