I have a 95 E320 Wagon. I need to remove steering wheel in order to repair/replace the multiple switch (right turn signal remains on when I complete the turn). It required T25 (Torx) driver. I removed the airbag on the steering wheel. In order to remove the steering wheel, do I have to remove the center nut requires 10mm hex bit? Looks like its been screwed in very tightly. Please advice.

There's also Mercedes flavor loctite on the bolt . . .

1) Make sure the steering is unlocked

2) Have a helper hold the wheel

3) Use the longest breaker bar you can find, or add a pipe extension to a short one.

4) You will never forget the sound that bolt makes when it breaks loose.

I thought I submitted a reply ealier today. Since it's not there so I'm sending this reply once more. Thank you, MTI. I've used top half of my floor jack bar. I inserted the rachet handle into the floor jack bar and gave couple of good wack. Wolah! It got loose! One thing I must inform you was that "Do not attempt to remove x4 round wires". When I removed the center nut, I saw x4 round wires. I thought the wires were connected w/ male/female plug. But, NO! It appeared that x4 wires were originated from a plug somewhere under the dash. Then, connected to the flat/tape wires (2 to 3 ft long, sandwitched in x2 round plastics), and then, connected to x4 round wires in a space just below the airbag. It's a one-piece wire from the plug in the dash to the space just below the airbag, w/ 2 to 3 ft of flat/tape wire inbetween. Yes, this work also took almost whole Sunday, but I was able to get in and correct the problem on the multi switch (right turn signal remains on after completing the turn). And, also I was able to remove the instrument panel. Next assignment will be replacing the dimmer switch, and fix trip meter. This trip meter does not reset to 000. Is this trip meter repairable? Or, do I have to replace entire speedometer?

It's a type of hex socket. Learned that when I did the steering wheel on my SEC.
