For a two reasons: I'm gone to NY for the summer for work and am disappointed by some of the claims of new folks here.
I know I could be perceived as bit less than cordial on some issues, but I call BS what I feel it is - without using profanity or insults. I've removed nearly all my past posts and threads and will not post for some time. I'll lurk and answer PM's as best I can on any mechanical questions/ parts requests/ personal items.
I've edited this first post several times now. I believe that like the first intercooler thread that never had documented proof of any gains just claims, claims of 35 mpg in a 617 and million mile engines- people here are skeptical unless that proof is
clearly shown. I feel I am a leader in this issue. There are too many other forums on the internet that already pander to baseless ideas posted by the inexperienced and clueless. Obviously you can't tell them to f*&^ off, but the definition of irish diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way they enjoy the trip. I've failed at that- I know I've pissed them off- but if they don't like it or me, and I have not insulted them with profanity or counter baseless stuff then it is ALL of our duties to say "prove it or zip your lip". If they can't stand the heat- hit the ignore button. In life my mouth has written a few checks the facts can't back up,- and when shown I was wrong I usually say so in public. New folks and long time members should both be held to this higher standard- if not they can live and post at some other place. I'm not going to post as I'll be in NY without internet full time for the summer. I hope all of you can look at this and be civil and make this forum continue to be grounded in higher ideals.
William
I posted this in the DD, but I thought I'd also post it here. BTW it has nothing to do with OD. Abuse is the norm here, and I can stand the heat in the kitchen.
