Craigs list rant
So I was on craigslist today. I found a Volvo that I was very interested in. One problem. There was no phone number. Hello do you want to sell your car or not? I emaild them. It really just seems like clown activity not to put your number on the dumb add. it takes more time that way.

I never put my phone number up on my CL listings. I am just weird that way, but I prefer email contact over phone contact.

Why on Earth would I post my phone number to a venue where anybody can see it?

My exact reasoning, and after a few emails, I give my phone number.

Yeah, I probably should LOL...I'm looking for antoher wagon, to do a five speed conversion, and install the rearend out of a sedan in, as it will be a good hauling vehilce that will get 33MPG like my 88 244 sedan.

I have several cars for sale right now on craigslist and I NEVER post my # in my ads. I put a direct email that I get immediately whenever they send me something and after that I will give them my number but too many wackos. I don't want to need to have to turn my phone on silent at late night because somebody wants to call me at 2am to talk about my car.

That's what I do, I will email my phone number out, but I won't post it where it can be collected by telemarketers.

As others have said, too many weirdos and tirekickers on craigslist to have my number out there.

Agreed. E-mail only, and phone number divulged only for those interested enough to respond to the ads.
Placed the ad for our playset last week...didn't take long to get interested buyers. Have one that is coming at the end of the week with cash! So I guess Craigslist works for us!

I don't toss my phone number on CR either - would you post your phone number on ebay? I wouldn't; too many idiots. Email the seller, then ask him for his number - if he gives it to you, then that's a good sign of a Seller who's honest and up-front, if he refuses to give it you, then keep an eye on that Seller. As a Buyer, it's a good learning tool.
