I don't live in Phoenix but that ain't EVER happening to me. I will NOT buy a car without a fully functioning AC. If the seller even utters "AC problems", I say "Thanx but no thanx".

I grew up in South Africa. Specifically the city of Durban on the east coast. A subtropical climate of extreme disgusting humidity for much of the year and where the economic realities meant most vehicles had no a/c. Even some of the Mercedes and such that were sold there had no a/c units. This gave me a deep and abiding hatred for any vehicle, house, office whatever, without excellent a/c.

I will no longer tolerate vehicles without ice cold air. (And consequently think that Mercedes Benz climate control engineers should - as a group - be summarily executed).
