There is this women that I know, she is 23 years older then me. She has been divorced for at least ten years and has never had any kids. She seems like really a cool person, is smart inteligent and actractive. She likes cars, good food, and just haveing a good time. She also seems to be a fairly no nonsese type of person, which is something that I appriciate. I think this probably comes with age I don't know for sure.

We have gone out several times wine tasting etc. She can't seem to find the right guy and apparently, I do find her charming and enjoyable to spend time with, so What should I do. I'm 23 BTW

That's great. Congratulations. I'm glad you have an open mind and are doing what's right for you, many people would shy away from a situation like this, but this is 2008, not 1908. Cheers

I hate to be the one to rain on your parade, but with your "partner's" maturity comes the realization on her part that she may consider you simply a "fun" companion...nothing more. So don't go into this thinking there may be a deeper relationship on the horizon.

As long as you go into this with your eyes wide open, you can have a really enjoyable affair...I speak from experience, as I consistently dated women far older than myself...ironically, I married younger.

I enjoyed the company of older women for the same traits you have experienced...no nonsense, doesn't play silly cat-and-mouse games, knows what she wants, unafraid to experience life's pleasures, and saavy enough to have rid herself of the "baggage" that most younger angst-ridden women seem to carry. If it gets that far, you will appreciate the experience a capable older woman can share in the bedroom...but you may find that she will be bored with the standard sexual routines and opt for more adventurous actvities... good lick, (I mean, good luck)!

Without knowing more than what you have said here, if you are also attracted to her on more than a just friends level, (and you are there already as she has gone places with you several times already!) then you may need to find out if she has interest in taking it to a higher physical level.

"Lean in", look into her eyes when she talks to you, show some real interest in what she talks about, put your arm around her shoulder or take her hand, when you walk, and if she is older, divorced, and a "no nonsense" type, show some restrained physical interest, and she will let you know loud and clear, whether she feels any chemistry with you or not...

Talk to her! Ask her what her past relationships were like, and what she is looking for now, what kind of a relationship she hopes to find, and get a hint in that you'd like to know, if she feels anyone that much younger than her is of value relationship wise. If you keep the questions low key, not sexually explicit in any way, it's pretty likely she will, if feeling not threatened, feel pretty safe in telling you exactly what she thinks of men in particular.

And if the conversation is lubricated with a few glasses of her favorite wine, it's likely she may give you a very implicit or explicit clue or statement about how she looks at YOU.

...So chances are, she knows well if she is feeling a physical connection, with you, so if you do too, and give her the chance to act on it, with little hints like those, you will likely - so long as you are gracious, and do not come across as crude and like gangbusters, you may be in for the affair of your life.

If it worked out that way, you may find, perhaps to your surpirse, many women that age - having been divorced, are
used to a VERY healthy sexual past life, and miss it terribly, and could be VERY ready and willing to encounter you that way, and if they really like you, they could be ready to be all over you, and could give you a mind blowing series of sexual encounters, and be utterly uninhibited, most likely without pregnancy worries that you would have with younger ones.

You need to find out for sure whether you are already in "Just friends forever mode" though, first.

I have a number of female friends around that age and could throw this out to them for comments, if that would help and you want it....after all, this is just an automobile online site frequented by males mostly and I know some females who are divorced AND OF that age group, who would just love to answer a question like that, as they have a keen and consuming interest in sex and relationships

... To ask here is in a way like the blind asking for guidance from the Cyclops, this is a Mercedes Benz OT discussion group with mostly males who are totally clueless compared to the women of that age themselves who would never be found *here* on this board.

Many of the ones I speak of are actually *very* frustrated in finding ANYONE suitable to even ASK them for a date, at all, in many cases, and they believe the attention goes mostly to the younger, supposedly "Hot" looking ones in their 20s and 30s that are of childbearing age always..

It's been said, "A man always wonders if he will "get lucky" on the first date, but the woman ALREADY knows ...

If you could talk to your friends that would certainly be helpful. I have been intrested in a lot of girls my age, but find many are fiscally irresponceable, flaky or not even sure of their sexual orrientation one in particualr who was in to BMWs. I understand that we all mature at our own pace but it is good to be some what reasonable.

I can benefit from this post. 500sl, may I ask how you two met and how things progressed to the point of you two going out casually?

Do you think she has an interest in you, and if so what were the clues she gave?

We were both having work done on our Volvos at the same shop. We started talking and I asked for her number, as she said she wanted to hang out. Looks like next weekend we might drive to the coast togeather for the day. As I mentioned it, and she seemed excited by the idea. Have to see what happens.

Coool! What Volvo model do you have? I'm a bricknut, and I have an '89 245. Interesting enough, today I happened to catch my dept. head and a fellow coworker chatting about cars. My boss, let's just call her that even though she's not my immediate supervisor, drives a Prius and the other person was saying she's interested in getting one. Thanks to this board, I said something about Prius planning to add solar panels for the AC (without really getting into the flaws of this concept). There was a post about it a month back or something. Anyhow, on our way to our cars, she commented about Volvos being sturdy and stuff, hehe. I've been thinking about getting the first-gen V70 (preferable a T5) to replace my 190E, that or an 850R. I've always liked the 850 model, again, the wagon version. Then I thought of the C70 since I've been driving "family" cars. But my heart is still in M-B and I think I'm gonna start saving for an SL, 129 body.

What made you ask for her number? Did you hesitate at first or it just came naturally for you? Inquiring minds want to know!
