The Most Difficult Thing you've Done

What's the most difficult thing you've ever done or had to do (in your life)?

I'm under 21 so I think it would be inappropriate for me to comment, I mean it would be like writing one's memoir(s) at age 20 LOL.

Ignore stupid questions.

I've done some difficult things in my life, but the first thing that came to mind was passing Differential Equations. It took me three tries, and on the third, I only took the one class, didn't work, and had just come back to school after being gone for three years, so I didn't know anybody. I ended up having little else to do besides study, and I finally made it.

I couldn't solve a differential equation now if my life depended on it.

I hope I can pass the class on the first time or see if its truly needed

Most difficult for me? Getting married!

It's scary (at least for guys) to decide all at once to pick a mate for life! Especially someone who frequently regretted past decisions..critical or insignificant.

To stand at the foot of my mother's hospital bed and watch her suffer the last night of her life.

Changing my job, career, industry, and whole way of working was not easy. It's starting to come together, but starting over in your fifties is not something you want to do if you can avoid it.

I was going to say dig myself into and out of a $45K CC hole. But I'd have to put watching my MIL die from breast cancer at the age of 53, and my wife and FIL having to deal with that horrible end, at the top of my toughest list.

Dee8go 07-23-2008 10:29 AM

Yes, watching someone you love or even just care about, waste away from something like cancer is terrible. Death is the one thing in life that makes us feel more impotent than anything else. It's the one "goodbye" that does not hold the possibility of a future "hello."

That's a pretty tough pill to swallow.

WVOtoGO 07-23-2008 10:36 AM

The most difficult, was also the best.

The sale of our company.

Dee8go 07-23-2008 10:47 AM

Yeah, life is almost never black and white, is it? There's some ambivalence in just about everything we do when it comes to making changes.

The new job was the absolute right thing to do for me, even though I had to venture way out of my comfort zone to get there.

Going to someones home and having to tell them their spouse/son/daughter had been killed. I had to do this several times. It sucked everytime and never got better.
