If it is a 250S, it is a w108. A w109 is essentially a long-wheelbase w108 with air suspension (i.e. 300SEL).

I'm wondering if you're correct on the year and/or model. I had the impression that the 250S was superseded by the 280S in '68.

Any chance that this is the smaller (w114) Mercedes 250 ? They were in production in 1971.

Not exactly an ideal candidate for and an economy car, but solid enough to give it a buy, considered all is as it should be. Nice car.

I suppose it's an auto tranny.

I had a 230 '71, which roared like thunder and a '67 230 Fintail which I ended up inserting a 250 into it.

They were amazing , I wish I still had them.
