That is great. Not exactly heavy apprehension in my case. Instead just a not looking forward much to what they want to do to me at times.

I don't really focus on the negative too much.

My Dad when he had bypass surgery was very relaxed about it I thought. I asked why. He said he just put it in God's hands.

I am not very religious but at this point of my life if I went on the table I would probably not feel shorted.

Today the pain is markedly less. The general swelling in the leg is noticably less too. I am taking less pain meds as well.

I'm down to taking 1/4 of a 500 mg percoset every eight followed by a 500 mg tylonal every eight staggered by 4 hours.

Now I find if I am getting uncomfortable if I get up and stretch and walk around a bit it will often negate the need for the pain meds.

I also feel good enough that i volunteered to show apartments this afternoon.

Today the leg began to feel almost normal when stationary. Very mild pain to walk without the cane or walker but enough to make a pronounced limp. With the cane or walker though excellent progress can be made.

I drove today. Operating my clutch in the VW did not cause any mechanical pain but sitting on the side bolster with my incision right there was uncomfortable.

Lovely weather here last two days.

Cheers!

The swelling has gone down so much the leg feels pretty much normal now with a couple of tender places where they clamped it down. Still some pain but I am near being able to sleep in my normal bed.

Sleeping in the recliner and or on the couch is not very restful but once I am up and around in the morning by 10 am or so I am feeling pretty decent.

Today it is snowing....so far not much accumulation on the ground as it was above freezing. Hope it stops. I don't really want to do snow removal today if avoidable.

A little off topic, does that mean you are feeling well enough to go to Indy and cash in the $415 million dollar lotto ticket today that was sold in Lafayette IN?

Be careful with that. You don't want the infection going into the joint.

yeah she's going to the Doc today, streph is bad for internal organs, kidneys, heart, and lungs, which killed my daughter. Now staph, and its bad cousin mersa, attack bones, muscle, and skin.
I can't see why they don't take streph bacteria, use gamma rays to weaken it,and inject schoo kids in the fall,as a vaccine. I use to get it alot in my 20's,I used Midol for pain,it works with sore thoarts some how.

I talked today with my daughter the pediatrician, who is good friends with my surgeon, about my hip. As the current surgeon had to lengthen my leg 5/8" to match the other one that the other surgeon screwed up by making it too long he was pre-op a little concerned about lengthening the leg the right amount and getting it just right. (It is).

She explained to me that in making the femur longer it suddenly makes all the muscles, nerves and blood vessels too short so it makes the recovery a bit slower as they all are stretched out and need to deal with the new situation. My two week checkup is tomorrow at 745 am. Wish me luck!
