.

What can one person do ??

If at all possible participate in an exit poll.
Large discrepancies between exit poll numbers and official
results can show problem areas that may need to be checked.

Keep track of local results via web site downloaders like HTTrack.
Taking snapshots of results every few minutes, looking for discrepancies
like decreasing numbers, early results, etc...

.

And these guys have come up with some good ideas.

There are less than 10 states that swing the election..........every time.

Yup - you live in Cal, you're blue, in the pres-dent uhl election anyway.

The last time I voted, the machines had a receipt-ribbon sort of thing that made a paper record of the votes. That way if there's some question, there's a physical document that can be inspected.

I'm in a swing state, so my vote MIGHT actually matter.

MAryland is more democrat that even Mass. with the Kennedy clan running things up there.
Here we have fully electronic machince with no paper trail. I doubt that the people in power will allow that to change.
