^^I was sincerely joking. Perhaps that is part of the misunderstanding I might be having.

I don't want to quote people here. Its kind of touchy, and perhaps it is all interpretation- this is why I posted. Wondering if anybody else has observed the same.

displaced anger - an unevoked, negative response to stimulii from an outside source which has no direct affiliation with the recipient

that is my definition

I arrived at this by deducing, solely from written words, that condescending remarks are more common on forums than 'real' life.

although condescending is very interpretive person to person, the placement of words, their timing, and context speak volumes more than that published by the original author. It is important only because it appears intended.

This forum is generally much more tame than most of the others I visit on the web, FWIW.

BTW, I am just as "obnoxious" in real life as some people think I am here.

It is an occupational hazard, I am a lawyer.

Remember the guy on some forum who flamed someone else...and that guy drove like 7 hours over to the perps house to do some "flaming" of his own?!! Talk about displaced anger!!!

It's the real "us" coming out. We don't need to cover it up like we have to do during the course of our daily routines.

Yes, and I once almost had my butt kicked because some gangsta's thought my flicking cigarette ashes out of the window of my '74 240D was really me shooting them the bird.

They followed me for miles, and when I pulled over into a gas station they all got out to take care of business. I waited until they were all out of the car and I floored it. A 240D never felt so slow.....
