In any time exposure, the starts and planets are moving in an arc across the sky.. In the length of time required to get the milk way that bright, I would bet that the stars have travelled appreciably.

Sorry, I thought you meant the superficial question.
IIRC to take a photo of the stars your camera must be mounted on a fancy rotating head that keeps the lens pointed at a constant azimuth and right ascension and with respect to the latitude. The rotation of the Earth will blur the stars unless compensated. |
